And insiders tell us why Molly’s white dress was a very clever play on her part
AS Tommy Fury stormed to victory in his latest fight, Molly-Mae stood proudly by his side – angelic in a white dress with her engagement ring firmly back on her finger.
But we can reveal that beneath the perfectly curated night lies a rather more uncomfortable reality, including a shocking family betrayal and a calculated move from Molly.
Insiders tell us Molly, 27, is taking back control of the circus surrounding her and Tommy, after the birth of their little boy, Midas, and she now has a new plan to keep tabs on her man.
They told us: “Molly knows that a lot of drama comes with the Fury family, but when it comes to spoiling her own moments, she’s not impressed.
“Everyone knew she was having a boy because Tommy was overheard boasting, and then her baby name was leaked online after some of Tommy’s relatives shared it with strangers they had met in a queue for a nightclub. Most people would have seen that as a huge betrayal.”
Indeed, Tommy’s victory over Eddie Hall became somewhat overshadowed by the fanfare around Molly and the baby’s name.
Tommy revealed their choice as he stepped out to take on British retired strongman competitor Eddie and wore garments of clothing emblazoned with Midas’ name. But of course, some people already knew the name.
In a video, which was shared on June 5, two girls revealed the name after claiming to have met one of John Fury’s relatives on a night out as they queued for Ushuaïa in Ibiza.
The clip went viral, leaving Molly reportedly dismayed and also concerned about how much family members are discussing her life.
The insider added: “She really felt the best way to regain the power was by showing up to the fight – and looking a million dollars in the process.
“It was a very defiant moment really; she was making a real point. Everyone was talking when Tommy missed his niece Venezuela’s wedding, leaving Molly to go alone while heavily pregnant, so she wasn’t going to give people the satisfaction of her not showing up to this.
“She constantly feels under a lot of pressure, and wanted to make sure her comeback was completely on her terms.”
The baby name divided fans thanks to its negative connotations – in Greek mythology, King Midas had the power to turn everything he touched into gold. But it became a curse when he could not eat or drink, and he begged for it to be removed.
One fan wrote: “They do know the whole story don’t they? It was a curse of greed not a blessing.”
Another snipped: “What an arrogant name for a baby or adult.”
Others were more positive, with someone commenting: “I actually really like the name Molly Mae and Tommy have given their baby boy. Quite a cool name actually!”
Eagle-eyed fans would also have spotted that Molly’s sister’s husband, Danny Rae, was part of Tommy’s entourage for the Eddie Hall fight.
For the first time, the former soldier took his place in the Fury camp, and we’re told he’s become Molly’s eyes and ears.
Our insider explained: “Zoe is famously not Tommy’s biggest fan, but they are over all that now and Danny has grown very close to him.
“He is incredibly sensible and is really a very positive influence on him. Molly loves the idea of them spending more time together, not least because he will report back on everything. It’s like one of her side has finally infiltrated Tommy’s camp.”
Despite Molly’s best efforts, Tommy’s dad, John Fury, still managed to generate negative headlines – and embarrass the pair.
Following his son’s victory, he whipped off his shirt, punched walls and ranted “who wants a fight?”, after clashing with Misfits star Chase DeMoor and continuing his war of words with Carl Froch.
It certainly took the shine off the evening, despite the fact that Molly’s engagement ring was very much back on following their split last year.
The source added: “Wearing white and having her ring on show makes it very clear that the wedding will be back on. It was Molly’s way of stopping any speculation, and now Tommy is making even more money; she feels like they are finally in a situation where they are equals financially and that gives her security.”
Her outfit was from her Maebe brand – the Power Fitted Dress – costing £90, and “promising to flatter all”.
What better way to prove that than having Molly wear it so soon after giving birth? She even told her followers: “Quite possibly the ONLY dress that would’ve made me feel confident2 weeks PP.”
The move has worked – it’s already sold out in a number of sizes. And in two days time she will be launching her latest collection. It was a perfectly timed reminder of her brand.
The star later added that she was wearing a pair of £70 control pants and a huge pad – as well as doing a “whole lot of prayers”.
She told her followers: “Don’t get it twisted!I pulled myself together for a few hours to support Tommy but this is the reality of most my evenings currently.
“Taking deep breaths, covered in vomit, whilst being used as a
human cow and trying to look after my other little sassy human too!”
Molly is the most successful Love Island star of all time, and she’s thought to be worth up to £8m, and Tommy’s not far behind with £6m. Tommy did, however, land approximately £2.6 million from this weekend’s fight – putting the pair head to head for the first time.
After their daughter Bambi was born in January 2023, Molly missed attending Tommy’s highly anticipated grudge match against Jake Paul a month later in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.
Of course, a fight in Manchester is much easier to get to, but after a difficult few years, it’s no surprise Molly wanted to be seen.
Moments after Tommy was declared victorious by unanimous decision despite a 100lb weight difference, Molly made her way to the dressing room to see him.
A rather awkward embrace was caught on camera between them as she pecked him on the cheek, sparking comments online about their lack of chemistry, but the couple have never been known for public displays of affection.
It seems Tommy was actually feeling disappointed after his win, which may have explained his coldness.
His win was met with boos and many felt the decision was controverisial because the score cards were so tight.
Lip-reading expert Nicola Hickling, who viewed the footage, says Molly can be seen telling him: “You smashed it, babe.”

Speaking to CasinoHawks, Nicola added that Molly then replied: “No, it wasn’t, you smashed it. Don’t put it down, it was a good fight.”
Others noted that Tommy failed to mention Molly in his initial speech after winning, when he said: “This was for my new baby boy, Midas. It is another Fury, it’s another boy. This, tonight, this win was for my baby boy, my baby girl, Bambi and Midas. Welcome to the world.”
He later realised the error of his ways, and in an Instagram post, he added: “And thank you to Molly for holding down the fort with our two beautiful children whilst I was preparing.”
Our insider added: “Tommy isn’t perfect, but he’s trying. The weekend was just as they had hoped, really. People will always criticise them for not being all over each other, not saying the right thing and for doing things wrong, but they are a real family unit now, and Molly will do whatever she can to keep it that way.”
