After Trump unleashed a tirade against CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins, her past in conservative news reporting for Fox is being unveiled.
TrumpĀ launched an attack against Collins seemingly to be provoked by his apparent rage over the fact that she’s not always smiling in his presence. In his firstĀ White HouseĀ press conference in a week, the 79-year-old president unleashed his rage onto Collins, 34, when he was asked a question by another reporter.
At one point, he told her, “You should be ashamed of yourself, you used to be a conservative. She was a conservative from Alabama, can you believe it?” The attack came days afterĀ Collins said Trump was ‘not okay’ after late-night Truth Social rampage.
Now, social media users are bringing up old clips of her on their network. One clip from 2015 shows Collins with blonde highlights, speaking about immigration issues at the time. In the clip, she slams a left-wing investor.
She said, “George Soros is this foreign born left-wing guy who essentially wants to change the nature of our country…For him he sees this immigration crisis as a vehicle to further his agenda.”
The clip showed a vast contrast to her current political views as she is openly against the Trump administration and reports for CNN.
During his June 3 rant against Collins, Trump also said, “CNN…they’re crooked as hell. CNN is a very corrupt organization, with a corrupt reporter standing right there. She never smiles. A young beautiful woman, she never smiles. I never see a smile off her face. I see her standing there with hatred in her eyes.”
He continued, “Like, she has hatred ’cause we have borders. Because we have a strong military. Because we cut our taxes. Because we do things that everybody wanted. And then we win our election in a massive landslide. We win 87% of the counties in this country. Nobody’s ever heard of a thing like that. And that’s because we’re doing the right job. So, the reporters should be happy, they shouldn’t be unhappy.”
Then, Kaitlan Collins asked once again whether or not the 1.8 billion dollar DOJ fund is dead or still existent.
“Uhhhh, I’d have to ask the lawyers. I don’t know,” he responded.
He then called the fund a ‘beautiful thing.’
“People like you have abused our people so badly. The fake news, like CNN, like the New York Times, like others,” he continued to rant.
Then, Collins cut in, saying, “Well,Ā RepublicansĀ were critical of it.”
Trump dismissed her, saying, “Wait a minute, be quiet. You should be ashamed of yourself. You used to be a conservative. She was a conservative from Alabama, can you believe it?”
Collins let out a laugh, saying, “I’m still from Alabama, sir.”
He spoke over her, continuing his attack. “CNN in particular does such false reporting. But now they have new ownership, so maybe it’ll straighten out. I doubt it. It’s hard to straighten garbage out.”
This came after she visited Watch What Happens Live, where she said that she is typically forced to “bite her tongue or squeeze her pen really hard” to avoid laughter or a reaction during intense interviews with the president.
