Keir Starmer has been dealt his biggest blow yet as GB News was halted for a breaking update on the ongoing illegal migrant crisis. The programme was interrupted to announce that the number of illegal migrants arriving in the UK by small boat has officially reached its highest level under any Prime Minister.
GB News‘ Home and Security Editor Mark White appeared on the programme alongside presenter Martin Daubney and credited his colleague Jack Walters for “delving deep” into the shocking figures. He said: “We can reveal that Boris Johnson‘s total of 65,815 migrants who arrived in his 39 months in office has now been surpassed in about half that time, 19 months in office, by Sir Keir Starmer.”
Despite GB News waiting to find out the final figure, White confirmed it is greater than the amount who arrived under Johnson’s leadership between 2019 and 2022.
He continued: “The Border Force vessel Volunteer has just arrived at Dover harbour with what seems like the last load of today but that will take it to about 65,900 plus. Incredible that we are looking at a record smashed.
White said the figure amounts to roughly 115 migrants arriving each day during Starmer’s 19 months in office. He compared the figures under Johnson and Rishi Sunak, revealing averages of 58 arrivals per day over Johnson’s 39 months in office and 81 per day during Sunak’s 22 months.
White went on: “Looking at those and comparing the time served to the number of migrants arriving, Sir Keir Starmer has well and truly outdone them. A record he won’t want to be boasting about.”

He revealed that around 900 illegal migrants have entered the UK since the start of 2026, but noted the figure would likely be higher were it not for poor weather conditions in the Channel.
If another 100 migrants enter the UK by the end of the month, it will surpass the figure recorded in January 2025.
The GB News star added: “You can see where we’re heading to in the year ahead, despite what we were told was this drive to ‘smash the gangs’ by Sir Keir Starmer. It’s not working.”
Since winning the 2024 General Election, Labour has maintained that addressing the small boats crisis is a top priority and introduced the one in, one out scheme to help tackle the issue.
However, it was revealed the scheme has been less successful in deterring Channel crossings compared to the Conservatives’ scrapped Rwanda scheme.
