A BODY of a man has been pulled from a city centre river close to a secondary school.
Police attended the scene in Leicester on Tuesday evening as the body was recovered from the River Soar.


Leicestershire Police were spotted outside Castle Mead Academy alongside a forensics team on Richard III Road.
The force confirmed shortly after 10pm on Tuesday that a man had been recovered and was later pronounced dead at hospital.
A cordon was set up in the area with wet clothes seen on the floor which were later collected by officers.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service were also at the scene to assist with the recovery.
The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious with police saying identification will be a matter for the coroner.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “Officers were called to Richard III Road in Leicester just after 5.35pm today (Tuesday January 20) after Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service recovered a man from the River Soar
“The man was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for HM Coroner. Identification will be a matter for the coroner.”
