Bryan Seager, from Glasgow, vanished from the Gorbals area of Glasgow on January 12 with his dogs discovered abandoned by the River Clyde
Police searching for a man whose dogs were discovered abandoned by a river have issued a tragic update.
Bryan Seager vanished from the Gorbals area of Glasgow on Monday, January 12, and hasn’t been seen since. The 44-year-old was believed to have been near the footpath of Glasgow bridge, which connects Eglinton Street with Jamaica Street over the River Clyde, at around 11.30pm with two pugs.
His family previously said they were “worried sick” as they posted public appeals across social media to try and bring him home safely. Sadly, officers from Police Scotland have confirmed that a body was found in the River Clyde at around 12.10pm on Wednesday.
The body is yet to be formally identified, however, Bryan’s heartbroken family have been informed, reports the Daily Record. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.10pm on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, a body was found in the River Clyde.
“The body has yet to be formally identified, however, the family of Bryan Seager, who was reported missing from the Gorbals area of Glasgow on Monday, January 12, 2026 has been informed. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
Yvonne Seager, Bryan’s sister, previously pleaded for help in finding her brother “alive and well”. She wrote: “My brother Bryan Seager is missing from the Glasgow city centre area. His dogs were found by themselves near the river Clyde. My focus is on finding my brother alive and well. I just want my brother back home safely with his dogs where he belongs.
“Keep him in your prayers and please light a candle and pray for his safe return. Anyone in the area where Bryan was last seen at 11:30pm to 12.30am on January 12 going into January 13 with any dashcam can you please double and triple check your footage please.”
His partner, Julie Richardson, begged him to “come home”. She said: “Has anyone seen my boyfriend Bryan Seager? He’s been missing from Monday and was last seen in the city centre. Bryan, if you see this, please come home. I’m worried sick.”
Bryan’s cousin, Nikki Seager, also urged people to come forward with any information they have about his whereabouts. She continued: “Please, if anyone sees my young cousin Bryan Seager or knows his whereabouts, please contact myself or Yvonne Seager. The police has been informed.”
