THE driver charged with killing a young couple in a car crash has admitted killing them after veering onto the wrong side of the road.
Adam Muskett, 27, and Katie Worrell, 25, were killed in a collision in Carmarthenshire on June 13, 2024.
The couple were driving on A477 between Llanddowror and Red Roses when Alexander MacCallum crashed into him with his Jaguar XKR.
Police said the Jaguar was travelling westbound towards Pembrokeshire and the couple’s Fiesta was travelling in the opposite direction at the time of the collision.
Adam was declared dead at the scene while Katie later passed away after being airlifted to hospital.
Their families later said the couple loved each other “beyond words”.
Alexander was charged with two counts of causing death by careless driving.
Today, Monday, February 9, he pleaded guilty to both counts at Swansea Crown Court.
Judge Huw Rees heard that Alexander “accepts responsibility for the offences”.
He blamed a “momentary loss of control” on adverse weather conditions.
Alexander is set to be sentenced on April 2.
He has also been subjected to an immediate driving ban until the sentencing hearing.
“She lived life to the full, loving to travel and achieving so much in such a short time, she graduated with a Masters and worked hard.
“She loved her friends and Adam beyond words. Katie was kind, caring and beautiful and our lives will never be the same without her.”
Adam’s family said: “Adam, our loving son, brother, grandson and nephew. He loved life, his friends, Tenby, football and Katie very much.
“How do we move on without you, your big kind heart and cheeky smile. We are heartbroken and forever proud.”
