A MAN has tragically died after a blaze tore through a flat in Glasgow last night.
Emergency crews were scrambled to a fire at a multi-storey property on the city’s Carnoustie Street.
Police locked down surrounding streets as fire crews tried to tackle the blaze at around 7.20pm.
Six appliances, including a high-reach vehicle, were at the scene in the Tradeston area near Kinning Park just south of the River Clyde.
Several police cars and ambulances were also spotted at the scene after the fire erupted.
Police have confirmed that a man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
However, he tragically died a short time later.
The force is currently treating the death as unexplained, and officers have launched an investigation into the fire.
They added that the fire in the flat was safely extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS).
Photos from the scene show two fire engines parked on the street late last night.
Firefighters were also seen entering and leaving the block of flats as police locked down the area.
A cop car was also spotted parked on the road after ambulances and four fire appliances left the area.

The blaze comes just days after a devastating blaze tore through one of Glasgow’s most iconic buildings.
The landmark lies obliterated after it was ravaged by an inferno, which started in an e-cig shop on the city’s Union Street.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.20pm on Tuesday, 10 March, 2026, we were called to a report of a fire at a flat on Carnoustie Street in Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
“A man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, however he died a short time later.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
