TRIBUTES have poured in for a “beloved” mum-of-two who was found dead in Derry on Saturday as the PSNI continue its murder investigation into her death.
Amy Doherty was found with critical injuries at a property in the Summer Meadows Mews area of the city at around 10:30am on Saturday and was rushed to hospital where she sadly passed away.
A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder shortly after.
Amy has been described as the “beloved mother” of Rhea and Ronan, the “loving daughter” of Patrick and Sharon and “dear sister” of Shane and Ryan.
A death notice added: “Granddaughter of John and Patricia Doherty, and Margaret and the late Patsy Mooney. R.I.P. A much loved niece and cousin.
“Deeply regretted by all the family circle.”
Amy’s funeral details will be announced at a later time, with her family requesting that their home remains private until then.
Mourners have told how the entire community is in mourning following the young woman’s death, with her friends describing her as “the funniest person”.
