A 30-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murdering a mother-of-two is currently receiving medical treatment and is not fit for interview, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has confirmed.
Amy Doherty was found injured at a property in the Summer Meadows Mews area of Londonderry on Saturday at about 10:20 GMT and later died in hospital.
The man was arrested on Saturday.
It is understood he fell from the Foyle Bridge that morning, prompting road closures and a search and rescue operation. He was later rescued and arrested by police and remains in custody.
Ms Doherty’s family said they have been “crushed with disbelief, sadness and pain”.
Amy’s funeral will then take place on Thursday, March 26, from the family home, 61 Norburgh, Foyle Springs BT48 0RG at 9.10am for Requiem Mass in Holy Family Church, Ballymagroarty at 10am. This will be followed by cremation in Antrim & Newtownabbey Crematorium, 582 Doagh Road, Newtownabbey BT36 5BU at 1pm..

Amy’s family has requested family flowers only, with donations in lieu to Foyle women’s Aid, 24 Pump St, BT48 6JG.
Amy was the beloved mother of Rhea and Ronan, loving daughter of Patrick and Sharon, dear sister of Shane and Ryan, granddaughter of John and Patricia Doherty, and Margaret and the late Patsy Mooney. She was also a much-loved niece and cousin. On Monday, the 28-year-old’s parents spoke of how she was ‘the best mother’ to her two children as well as being their precious and beautiful only daughter.

A murder inquiry was launched on Saturday after Amy was found with serious wounds at an address in Summer Meadows Mews and died a short time later.
A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.
In their statement issued on Monday, Sharon and Patrick Doherty spoke of how devoted, kind and loving their daughter was.
