COPS have launched an urgent probe following the death of three people — including a teenage girl — in a horror crash on a country road.

Humberside Police say a white Audi TT left the road and ploughed into a tree near Garthorpe, North Lincolnshire, on Saturday evening.

Emergency services raced to Shore Road at around 5.45pm following reports of a serious smash between Garthorpe and Meredyke Road.

But tragically the driver, 44, a front seat passenger, 48, and a 13-year-old girl sitting in the back all died at the scene.

Two other children survived the crash but were badly hurt.

A nine-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

The teenage girl is fighting for her life in a critical condition.

Police have launched an urgent appeal for information into what caused the car to veer off the road.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the area at the time to come forward.
