Davina McCall says ‘incredibly emotional’ goodbye as fans react to ‘end of an era’

Davina McCall has said she had an ‘incredibly emotional’ night as fans reacted to her saying goodbye and marking what they described as the ‘end of an era’.
The presenter, who is probably best known for her many years fronting reality series Big Brother, took to her Instagram and shared a number photos of her at an MTV reunion event earlier this week, having made her debut on MTV Europe with Ray Cokes’ Most Wanted back in 1994.
An emotional Davina reflected on working on the channel, which comes after MTV closed five of its dedicated music channels – MTV Music, MTV 80s, MTV 90s, Club MTV, and MTV Live in the UK, Europe, and other international markets back in December.
She penned: “This was an incredibly emotional night. So brilliant to see so many old friends. So sad to say goodbye to @mtv. We reminisced about how brilliant it was to work on a channel that went out across Europe. It felt inclusive and uniting… if that makes sense. I know I was rather enthusiastic.
“Thank you MTV for seeing something in me and giving me my break… @billroedy @mikekaufmanuk @thebdiamondagent Great to see you @simoneangel_mtv @enricosilvestrin @tobyamies @rebeccaakerlund … thank you @bikeshedmotoco for hosting @dutchbsmc.”
The comments quickly came flooding in in response to the post, with fellow broadcast Julia Bradbury commenting: “Must have been so emotional.” This Morning beauty experty Nadina Baggott replied: “I remember you on Ray Cokes’ show.”
