KATE Middleton crossed paths with her old flame Rupert Finch at a royal wedding over the weekend.
The Princess and Prince William arrived at the Cotswolds venue together to celebrate the marriage of Peter Phillips – William’s cousin – and Harriet Sperling, an NHS nurse.
The Princess of Wales, 44, donned a stylish boucle-knit Roland Mouret frock with a matching hat and heels, while William sported a morning suit.
Other royals to attend the ceremony included Phillips’ sister Zara Tindall and her husband, Mike Tindall, as well as King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Princess Anne.
Rupert Finch, the Princess’ ex-lover, arrived with his wife, Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs, wearing a traditional suit.
According to hearsay, the 47-year-old corporate lawyer was allegedly involved with Kate at the time of her head-turning fashion show appearance in 2002, where William is said to have called her a knockout.
After spotting his future wife modelling a slinky mesh dress William reportedly said: “Wow, Kate’s hot!”
The young Rupert was supposedly Kate’s “casual boyfriend” at the time, and a “tall, dark and handsome aspiring lawyer” in his fourth year, according to Tatler.
Their romance was portrayed on the sixth and final season of the royal drama “The Crown“, with Oli Green playing Rupert and Meg Bellamy portraying Kate.
Both Kate and Rupert have stayed intensely private about their relationship, with Rupert once saying, “It’s not something I’ll ever talk about. It’s between Kate and me and was a long time ago”.
Kate and William dated for nearly a decade before tying the knot in April 2011, which Rupert attended.
The royal couple shared a touching post on social media in April, with a family photo of them basking in the sun.
“Celebrating 15 years of marriage,” it read.
Rupert, who later married Lady Natasha, welcomed daughters Georgia in 2015, Cienna in 2017, and India in 2020.
