West Yorkshire Police launched the murder probe yesterday after receiving a concern for safety report.

Attending the home in Horbury, West Yorkshire, officers discovered a woman’s body.

A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday and he remains in police custody.

Police today confirmed the body is thought to belong to Carolann, also releasing a photograph of her.

Specialist officers are supporting her family after her tragic death.

Police have reassured concerned locals that they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the suspected murder.

Officers remained on the scene yesterday, carrying out searches and launching a murder investigation.

DCI Stacey Atkinson, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said it was a “complex” case, and anticipated the investigation may continue for some time.

She said: “Complex enquiries remain ongoing at Ken Churchill Drive and will be for a number of days as we investigate what has taken place there.”

Addressing the lack of clarity on identifying the body, Atkinson said police will continue their efforts.

She added: “Work to formally ID the woman found at the address remains ongoing, but we do think it is Carolann, and specially trained officers continue to support her family.

“We recognise this incident will cause concern locally and I can advise residents we are not seeking anyone else in connection with the matter.”
