THE family of a 13-year-old boy who died in a horror traffic collision have paid tribute as two men are arrested in connection with the tragedy.
Lachlan was riding a self-propelled scooter when he was hit by a white Seat Ibiza in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, last Tuesday.
Emergency services were scrambled to the scene, and 13-year-old Lachlan was rushed to hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of medics, the teen passed away on Friday, March 27.
Speaking of the loss, Lachlan’s grieving sister and guardian said: “Lachlan’s smile was truly infectious, lighting up any room he entered.
“It wasn’t just his mouth that smiled – his eyes sparkled with joy and warmth.
“He made everyone around him feel happy with his naturally funny, cheeky charm.
“In keeping with the kind and selfless person he was, Lachlan was an organ donor, and even now he continues to help others.
“I am going to be lost without my sidekick, and I’m incredibly lucky to have had him in my life. Fly high, my Hot Chochlan.”
Humberside Police said an 18-year-old man was arrested in the wake of the tragedy.
He was taken into custody on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
