A WOMAN and two men have been arrested after a man’s body was discovered in a council wheelie bin after an alleged hit-and-run.
Cops confirmed a man in his 20s and a man and a woman in their 40s had been taken into custody in connection with the grim discovery.
All three were arrested overnight in Blackpool on suspicion of murder and assisting an offender.
They remain in police custody at this time as a probe into the incident continues.
The investigation was launched after a member of the public called police to Daimler Road in Coventry.
Responding officers discovered the body of a man aged between 40 and 50 in a wheelie bin which had been dragged into nearby Cash’s Park.
It’s believed the man may have been hit by a vehicle before being moved in the bin to a muddy path in the park, police said.
West Midlands Police are working to formally identify the man.
The force is also working alongside the local authority to try and establish where the bin had been taken from.
Alongside images of the wheelie bin, police have also released further information about the man to help identify him, and hopefully determine the cause of death.
The man has a tattoo of a cross with a snake wrapped around it on his back and the words “Little Stardust.”
He also has a tattoo on his right arm saying “nan” with a clover and the colours of the Irish flag, cops said.
Police are urging anyone with information, or dashcam or CCTV footage from the area, to reach out.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Poole, from West Midlands Police’s Major Crime Unit, said: “After beginning our investigation this weekend, we have made a number of arrests overnight.
“All of these people remain in custody at this time while we continue to build a picture of what might have happened.
“Thank you to everyone who has been in touch providing information so far.
“We are continuing to appeal to anyone who might know more about what happened and whether they can help our investigation.”
