With the new year comes new additions to certain families.
That includes Meghan McCain, who just gave birth to her third child — and first baby boy, after welcoming daughters Liberty, 5, and Clover, 2.
The TV personality, 41, took to social media on Saturday, Jan. 3 to share the exciting news with a couple photos to highlight the life event. One shows her and husband Ben Domenech (wearing a surgical mask) holding and admiring their newborn. The second image in the Instagram carousel gives fans a closer at the precious little one.
“We are absolutely over the moon to share that our sonRansom McCain Domenech has finally arrived at the crack of dawn January 2nd at 9lbs 2 oz,” McCain captioned her post. “We are all blissed out over the moon. Everyone is happy, healthy and exhausted. We’re so grateful to the incredible doctors and medical staff who took such wonderful care of all of us.”
The former co-host of The View‘s caption continues, “Liberty and Clover couldn’t be more excited to have a baby brother. Our family is overwhelmed with blessings, thank you all for your kind words, well wishes and prayers! Our family is officially a party of 5.”
McCain shocked fans with news of her third pregnancy during an interview with second lady Usha Vance on her podcast, 2Way’s Citizen McCain with Meghan McCain, last summer. She revealed the unexpected update while discussing motherhood, work-life balance and the challenges of raising a family in the public eye.
“I hope you don’t mind. I wanted to let you in on something that’s private that I haven’t talked about publicly yet,” McCain revealed. “I have two little girls. They are almost 5 and almost 3. And I just am entering my second trimester, I’m pregnant with my third.”
The political commentator told Usha, 39, that she admired her for the way she and Vice President JD Vance “incorporate their children in their life.” The couple has three children: Ewan, Vivek and Mirabel.
