A MAN has tragically died after trying to save two family members struggling in the sea.
Emergency services scrambled to a beach in Cornwall yesterday at around 3.50pm.
A man went into cardiac arrest in the sea at Tregirls Beach in Padstow after he entered the water to try and save two family members, police said.

The family members were rescued by members of the public.
But the local man, who was in his 60s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
This is the fifth water-related death over the Bank Holiday, which saw Brits flock to the sea and rivers amid record-breaking temperatures.
A boy, 13, died after being pulled from Leadbeater Dam in Halifax, West Yorkshire, yesterday.
A teenage girl, 15, also died yesterday after playing in Kingsbury Water Park just after 6pm.
Declan Sawyer, 15, died after swimming in a lake at a nature reserve in Lincoln, and a body of another teenage boy was found in Rother Valley Country Park in Yorkshire.
The Cornwall man’s death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “We were called by the Ambulance Service at around 3.50pm on Monday 25 May following a report of a man suffering a cardiac arrest in the sea at Tregirls Beach, Padstow.
“Emergency services and the RNLI attended the scene but sadly, the local man in his 60s was pronounced deceased at the scene.”His next of kin are aware.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner.”
