TWO children were rushed to hospital after a horror crash which saw them smash into a car.

The incident happened on Southwark Street in Old Basford, Nottingham, at around 7.10pm on Monday.

Cops say the bike the pair were riding collided with the side of a car.

Emergency services raced to the scene.

A 13-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl – who were riding the bike – were both taken to hospital for treatment.

Their injuries are not thought to be life-altering.

The road was sealed off while officers investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash.

It later reopened at around 9.30pm the same evening.

Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said: “Emergency services were called to Southwark Street, Old Basford, following a road traffic collision.

“That’s after a bike reportedly collided with the side of a car, around 7.10pm yesterday (16 March).

“Two people on the bike – a 13-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl – were taken to hospital for treatment.

“Neither of their injuries are currently believed to be life-altering.

“No arrests were made in connection with the incident.

“The road was closed until around 9.30pm, when it was then reopened.”
