His boat, the “Green Goddess” was spotted washed up on the beach near Hayle in West Cornwall.

Coastguard teams from St Ives, Poltreath and Penzance, along with two RNLI lifeboats from St Ives and a coastguard helicopter, rushed to Mexico Towans beach after David’s vessel was found.

The boat was discovered smashed to pieces, with its contents scattered across the sand, including a life vest.

Locals found parts of the hull, tins of paint, gas canisters and the boat’s seat strewn along the beach

It is believed David travelled by boat along the North Cornwall coast, passing Padstow and Newquay, before reaching the St Ives area on March 4.

David is described as a white man with a slim build, around 5ft 7in tall, with short grey hair.

Devon and Cornwall police are appealing for information as they continue their investigation.

A spokesperson for the force said: “If you have seen David, or know of their whereabouts, please call police immediately on 999, quoting log number 247 06/03/26.”
