The mystery surrounding Jesse Watters’ absence from Fox News’ The Five has finally been solved.
During the May 22 broadcast of the network’s prominent conservative political talk show, the polarizing 47-year-old host was conspicuously absent from his usual seat, leading fans to wonder where he could have gone.
Filling the panel in his place were legal analyst Emily Compagno, Jessica Tarlov, news anchor Rosanna Scotto, attorney Paul Mauro, and former professional wrestler Tyrus. While on the show, the group spoke about various current events and hot-button topics. This came after Fox News fans joked about the return of the “masked man” on the network.
Several hours after The Five’s customary 5 pm ET airtime, Jesse’s wife, Emma Watters, shed light on her husband’s whereabouts through an Instagram post. The Fox News host and his wife, who is also a producer at the network, share a 14-year age gap.
Why exactly was Jesse Watters absent from The Five on May 22?
Emma shared a candid photo alongside Jesse, her husband since December 30, 2019, taken in Paris, France, posting it for her 105,000 Instagram followers. The mother of two looked striking in a figure-hugging black corseted top with leather detailing at the waist and a halter neckline.
She completed her look with a black mini skirt and sleek black sunglasses. Emma’s makeup accentuated her glowing complexion with a light touch, featuring bronzed cheeks and a glossy pink lip. Her dark locks were styled in full, sweeping waves that fell past her shoulders.
Standing beside her was Jesse, wearing a beige polo shirt and black pants. The Fox News host rounded out his look with a pair of black sunglasses.
Emma captioned her loving post, “Bonjour avec amour,” followed by a French flag, a face blowing a kiss, and a red love heart emoji. The phrase translates to, “hello with love,” in English, reports the Express US.
The pair seemed to have journeyed to Paris, France, famously recognized as the city of love, for a short break. In the image, they both showed wide grins from a rooftop, with the city’s iconic landmark, the Eiffel Tower, gleaming in the sunlight behind them.
Many followers of Emma and Jesse were quick to respond to the post, with some voicing curiosity about why the TV host was missing from that day’s episode of The Five.
One user posted, “Ooh la la you two look gorgeous. I was wondering why I didn’t see you on the five today lol,” with a second commenting, “So that’s where you are Enjoy Paris with your beautiful wife.”
When is Jesse Watters back on The Five?
It has yet to be confirmed when Jesse will return to his role as anchor of The Five. The 47-year-old ordinarily hosts the show Monday through Friday.
In June 2023, Fox News named Jesse as the permanent host of the network’s 8 p.m. EST slot, following the ousting of controversial fellow conservative commentator Tucker Carlson.
