Paralympian Hannah Cockroft CBE and fellow Team GB star Nathan Maguire have celebrated a life-changing moment — the arrival of their first child. The couple, married in October 2024, are now the proud parents of a baby girl they’ve named Rosie Marigold Maguire, just a year and a half after tying the knot.
The news was shared on Instagram, where Hannah and Nathan posted a heartfelt update alongside a touching black-and-white photo showing their hands holding Rosie’s tiny hand. “Three whole weeks of you. 05.05.2026. Rosie Marigold Maguire,” they wrote, sparking an outpouring of congratulations from fans. Comments flooded in: “Welcome to the world Rosie! Many congratulations to you all,” and “Oh congratulations you pair of beauties!!! You’re in for a wild ride, good job you’re athletes!”
Hannah, a decorated wheelchair racer, holds nine Paralympic gold medals and 19 World Championship golds. She also made a mark on television, appearing on Celebrity Bake Off in 2019. Nathan, equally accomplished, has multiple gold medals, including a relay gold at the European Championships.
The pair first met at a Youth Sport Trust talent day in 2012, forging a friendship that grew through shared training camps before turning romantic. Their wedding celebrations took place at Halifax Minster, followed by a reception at the historic Dean Clough mill venue in Halifax, shortly after both competed at the Paris Paralympic Games.
