Loose Women star Linda Robson has revealed that she was placed in âintensive careâ and thought she was going to die when she after developing acute pancreatitis.
The 69-year-old is best known for appearing as a panellist on the ITV daytime chat show and for playing Tracey Stubbs in the sitcom BBC âs Birds of a Feather and itâs ITV reboot. Over the years she has been open about her health woes, and has now spoken openly about a time she believed her life was on the line.
âI was petrified in intensive care. I thought I was going to die,â she revealed.
âI had to have most of my pancreas removed because there were two tumours in a difficult position. I had to have a brain scan as well,â she said of the ordeal to The Sun.

She explained that friends and members of her family rallied around her during her hospital stay: âSeeing my kidsâ faces got me through it. They were at the hospital all the time. Theyâve been amazing.â
This isnât the first time that Linda has opened up about facing health issues. In December, Linda concerned fans after pulling out of her panto performance at the last minute following a health scare.
Around the same time, Linda appeared on Loose Women and concerned viewers when she revealed doctors were âkeeping an eyeâ on her after gallstones damaged her pancreas.
Discussing how illnesses can affect loved ones with her fellow hosts, she revealed: âWell Iâve had a bit of a health scare myself. So, quite a few years ago I had gallstones and they damaged my pancreas, and theyâve been keeping an eye on me for a while now.â
The actress went on to say she was undergoing numerous MRI and other scans at the time as medics investigated a cyst. She added: âBecause I had a cyst on my pancreas and itâs gone from 1cm to 2cm, so the kids have obviously been really worried about me.â
The star has also previously been open about other health issues, in 2024, the star opened up about struggling with addiction issues in a candid memoir. Recalling one particular episode, Linda told readers how her family eventually grew concerned and considered getting her sectioned under the Mental Health Act. Linda agreed to seek help voluntarily and checked into the Nightingale Hospital, ânot knowing if I would come home againâ.
âI hated myself. I told myself I was just a burden to Mark and the kids and that I was ruining all their lives,â Linda writes in the extract of her memoir published in the Daily Mail. âI couldnât even be trusted with my own grandchildren. Thatâs when I started to think Iâd be better off dead. At least without me around theyâd be able to get on with their lives and wouldnât have to worry about who was going to be looking after me.â
