White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt gave followers a glimpse into her new life as a mom of two as she shared a series of adorable photos from her maternity leave.
Leavitt, 28, welcomed her second child, daughter Viviana, or ‘Vivi,’ on May 1 with 60-year-old husband Nicholas Riccio. The two already share son Niko, who will turn two in July.
In the sweet snaps shared by Leavitt to Instagram this week, she captured some seriously adorable moments with her kids, including one of Niko admiring his new little sister while she slept in her carseat and an additional picture of her wearing a summery white dress as she held Niko – who was clad in an American-flag printed t-shirt – in her arms.
Another picture showed Leavitt cuddled up with Vivi on the rocker as she shared a blissful smile, while the next one captured her husband holding her.
But the family hasn’t just been soaking up the newborn bliss in their house – Leavitt also shared photos of the family spending time at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as enjoying the beach, as Niko protectively looked over his younger sister.
Other sweet snaps included Vivi wearing a pink onesie alongside Niko and him peeking over her stroller on a family walk.
The last photo that she captured showed a tender moment between Leavitt and the newborn, as she held her tiny fingers in her hands.
‘May memories,’ Leavitt wrote in the caption of the photos. ‘So grateful for this precious time with my sweet babies.’

In the comments section, many of her coworkers and fellow Trump aides chimed in with words of support, including his new nomination for United States Ambassador to Jamaica, Kari Lake.
‘This is so very precious. It looks like you are enjoying every second of this moment. We are so happy for you and your beautiful family,’ Lake wrote.
Leavitt’s executive assistant, Kieghan Nangle, typed, ‘Sweet mama.’
Her sister-in-law, Kara, wrote, ‘My favorites,’ followed by a pink heart emoji.
Leavitt has not yet announced a date for her return to the White House as Press Secretary.
In her absence, there was no formal replacement for the political star, as other members of the administration have been covering for her and holding press conferences, including Vice President JD Vance.
However, Leavitt worked down to the wire this pregnancy, as she took to the podium at 39 weeks pregnant, during what was supposed to be the start of her maternity leave in the wake of the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in April.
The annual event took a terrifying turn after a gunman attempted to target members of the Trump administration after guests had already posed up a storm on the red carpet.

The suspected gunman is California teacher Cole Tomas Allen, 31, who is facing a number of charges including attempting to assassinate the President.
He allegedly mocked the lack of security at the event and on his journey to DC in his chilling manifesto sent moments before he opened fire at the Washington Hilton on Saturday.
Surveillance footage showed Allen attempted to bolt past a security checkpoint while armed with a shotgun, a handgun and several knives.
Attendees were dressed to the nines for the big event with major power players in attendance, including President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and FBI Director Kash Patel.
In early May, President Trump announced that the White House Correspondents’ Dinner would be rescheduled for July 24.
The night ‘will feature significantly enhanced safety measures,’ per WHCA President Weijia Jiang.
It’s unclear whether Leavitt will be back from maternity leave to attend the newly scheduled dinner.
Since becoming the face of the White House last year, Leavitt’s marriage to Riccio, a real estate developer, has raised eyebrows due to their 31-year age gap.
In March, Leavitt admitted they have a ‘very atypical love story,’ and said they first met when she unsuccessfully ran for Congress in New Hampshire in 2022.
‘A mutual friend of ours hosted an event at a restaurant that he owns up in New Hampshire and invited my husband,’ Leavitt told Megyn Kelly at the time.
‘I was speaking. We met and we were acquainted as friends. And then we fell in love.’
When The Megyn Kelly Show host asked if there had been any thought in her mind of ‘I can’t date him, he’s 59 and I’m 27?’, Leavitt confirmed that she had dealt with initial doubts about how the age gap would impact the relationship.
‘Yes, of course. I mean, it’s a very atypical love story, but he’s incredible,’ she gushed. ‘He is my greatest supporter, he’s my best friend and he’s my rock.’
