Tragic Scarlett Faulkner’s family say hearts ‘shattered in million pieces’ as mum, 29, dies weeks after Tipp ‘assault’

TRAGIC Scarlett Faulkner’s family say their hearts are shattered “in a million pieces” following her death.

The young Limerick mother passed away on Monday after her life support was switched off after she suffered severe head injuries in an alleged street attack in Co Tipperary last month.

The 29-year-old had been on life support at Cork University Hospital after being critically injured in an alleged assault at the side of the R494 road in Birdhill, Co Tipperary, on Saturday, March 21.

Heartbreaking tributes are pouring in for the popular mum-of-one following her passing.

Scarlett’s brother Thomas told how his “heart is broke in a million pieces” over the loss of his “beautiful baby sister”.

He revealed Scarlett “never went away without telling us all you loved us”.

And Thomas added: “Scarlett, sister, we’ll all mind your baby girl for you.

“Sleep peacefully now, my baby sister, your big brother Thomas loves you so much.”

Scarlett’s sister, Victoria, pledged to cherish memories of her sibling forever.

Victoria said: “I promise you sister I’ll bring Oceanna to see you every day. I’ll do everything for her just like you’d want.

“I love you with all my heart and soul.

“I can’t explain the way I feel right now knowing I’ll never see you walk in the door to me and sit down and smoke a fag.

“I miss you every minute of the day you will always be my Best friend and Big sister.

“My heart inside me is broken in one million pieces. How will I ever say goodbye to you.”

The Faulkner family have announced their “beautiful angel” Scarlett will be laid to rest on Friday.

Scarlett will repose at Cross’s Funeral Home, Lower Gerald Griffin Street, Limerick city on Thursday from 2pm to 4pm.

Her funeral Mass will take place on Friday at 11am in St Munchin’s Church, Clancy Strand.

Scarlett will be laid to rest in Meelick Cemetery following the Mass.

Meanwhile, top boxer Paddy Donovan also spoke of his pain following his cousin’s tragic death.

Donovan said: “Rest is paradise my cousin. God will deal with the people that has been evil to you. Let justice be served.

“You will be missed. God be with my aunt and uncle and your family.”

A 16-year-old girl has appeared in court after allegedly striking Scarlett 11 times to the head with an iron bar, a special court sitting heard.

The girl has been charged with assault causing harm.

An adult female in her 40s has also appeared in court on four charges arising out of the alleged assault, “including violent disorder, reckless endangerment and burglary.
